Fix for YVM3302

A YouView on Sony FAQ

Looks like we’re not getting enough signal from your aerial at the moment.

Important: There is a known issue with YMV3302 messages being displayed when first opening Live TV & Catchup on some TVs. Sony are in the process of developing a fix for this issue.

You may use the service normally if the above occurs, however if you see repeated YVM3302 dialogs during normal usage please follow the troubleshooting steps below for assistance.

Head around the back of your TV and check the aerial cable is securely connected.

Don’t forget to check the other end of the aerial cable is also connected to the aerial socket in your home.

Using an indoor aerial? Some of these are powered aerials, check the plug is connected and the aerial is powered on.

The old “switch it on and off” routine. Overused but it can often help resolve the issue. Press and hold the ⌽ Power button on your remote for 8 seconds, then let go. You're TV will then begin to restart.

  1. Press the Home button on your TV Hub remote
  2. Settings can be found via the cog at the top of the Menu.
  3. Select TV Settings
  4. Select TV Channels
  5. Select Retune Channels

Once tuning is complete, select the appropriate TV region and press the Back button to return to your channels.

Every so often maintenance works are carried out to keep your transmitter in top condition. This might weaken your signal or interrupt your service.

Check the Freeview website to see if your transmitter is affected.

Don’t know what transmitter you’re using? Pop your postcode into the Freeview home checker to find out.

If your area has multiple transmitters available, you can find out if there's any transmitter faults and see the signal strength of the alternative transmitters on the BBC Reception Check website.

Sometimes the issue is out of your control. You could be affected by outside signal interference, such as:

  • Storm/windy weather or high pressure conditions
  • Engineering works to your local transmitter
  • 4G mobile transmitters
